Inauguration of the production facility
Vipiteno, 09/25/2009
On Friday September 25th, the official opening of the new manufacturing facility for the production of 1.5 MW wind turbine generators takes place in Chennai, India.

The production area consists of 20 acres with a building space of 16.700 square meters. In order to best fill the orders, the company built an assembly center in Chennai in 2008 in the form of a joint venture with the Indian Shriram Group, as well as new production halls for the manufacture of wind generators for the Asian market.

The imposing buildings cost sixteen million euros. “With this investment, we will be able to achieve our goal of revenues of 100 million euros in India by 2011,” adds Anton Seeber, general manager of LEITWIND AG. Within the same three-year period, annual turnovers outside of Italy may reach 170 million euros.
